🎯 What is YouTube Content ID?

YouTube Content ID is a powerful digital fingerprinting system that helps copyright owners identify and manage their content on YouTube. When your music is delivered to YouTube Content ID, it’s scanned across YouTube’s entire platform. If someone uses your music in their video, Content ID can automatically claim that video and monetize it on your behalf.

Once your release is approved for Content ID:

• • Your audio is fingerprinted and scanned against all uploads on YouTube
• • If a match is found, a claim is placed on the video

🎵 What Are YouTube Art Tracks?

Note that YouTube Art Tracks are completely separate from Content ID. An Art Track is automatically generated by YouTube using your audio, album art, and metadata (ISRC & UPC codes). These tracks are part of YouTube’s official music catalog and show up in playlists, search results, and the YouTube Music app.

🚫 What Content is NOT Eligible for YouTube Content ID

We cannot deliver your music to YouTube Content ID if:

• • Your track is AI-generated
• • Your track is a cover version, mashup, compilation, remix or karaoke version of another song—or even sounds like another recording
• • You have used non-exclusive beats, purchased or otherwise
• • Your track contains samples, beats, loops, sound effects, or other audio from sample libraries or public sources
• • The audio contains public-domain content
• • The audio contains ambient sound effects
• • Your track is a recording of a live performance (concerts, speeches, shows, etc.)
• • Your track is already registered for Content ID with another provider
• • We have any copyright infringement claims on your label or its releases
